10 years in Port Pirie

By: yourtown 25 Feb 2014 BoysTown

In the beginning we helped 20 to 30 young people a year and we have grown to working with 250 young people annually.

CHANGING LIVES

A morning tea last Friday marked nearly 10 years to the day since BoysTown’s official opening on 19 February 2004.

Over the years there have been many highlights including winning the tender to refurbish Housing SA homes in Risdon Grove, constructing a new Centacare building – an almost million dollar job - and building two quality family homes from scratch that have been sold to local residents. Our Young Mums Program has supported 170 young parents and their 118 children.

Ten years on we continue to listen to the community and adapt our services to meet contemporary needs and we believe this has been key to the success of our programs in this region. Tracy Adams, BoysTown CEO
