Expanding horizons

By: yourtown 17 Mar 2015 BoysTown

A young man from Brisbane is proving that a disadvantaged background does not have to mean a dismal future.

SUPPORT. TRAINING. EMPLOYMENT.

Simon* had a tough childhood and had been in the care of the Government. He was struggling to read and write before joining our employment and training programs.

Our youth workers, trainers and employment consultants worked with Simon to help him overcome the barriers stopping him from finding employment.

He has blossomed – he now has clear goals and feels positive about the future with his sights set on a career in youth work helping other young people.

Working with BoysTown has allowed me to expand my horizons and my future goals. Simon

Last year we supported more than 9,500 job seekers just like Simon to successfully transition to independent living, further education, training or work.
