Sharing a vision

yourtown is dedicated to creating the workforce of the future and working with partners to achieve that goal. In South Australia we have joined forces with the St Vincent de Paul Society.

CHANGING LIVES

Our Adelaide Youth Enterprises Team is helping refurbish and expand the St Vincent de Paul Family Centre in Elizabeth.

Four young people are developing construction and other work skills while creating more retail, training, and office spaces for the Centre’s Family Store. A new dining area where homeless and/or vulnerable people can have a hot meal is also under construction.

yourtown Regional Manager, Stephen Wales said it was great to be involved in a project so closely aligned to yourtown's own mission to help the most disadvantaged.

We welcome the opportunity to work with such a well-respected national organisation that shares a similar mission and provides new opportunities for young people at yourtown as well as the wider community. Stephen Wales

Over the last 10 years yourtown has employed about 1500 young people in these types of enterprises and around three quarters have obtained a job or gone into vocational training or education.
