yourtown Port Pirie
At yourtown Port Pirie we deliver Flexible Learning Options Program (FLO) and ParentsNext programs.
The FLO program in Port Pirie helps young people at risk of early school leaving to remain in formal education or plan for transition to work
The program is designed for students aged 14-17 identified as at high risk of leaving school early.
When young people are identified as being at high risk of leaving school early, our team works hard to understand the issues at hand and offer practical solutions leading to positive outcomes.
Services that young people in the Flexible Learning Options (FLO) Program receive include:
- Diagnostic testing to identify barriers to learning
- Referrals to specialists to address personal, health and social concerns
- Support completing an education program in line with the Australian Core Skills Framework
- Assistance transitioning to the next phase of learning, either through formal education, further training or employment
If you are a parent with a child aged 1-6 who has been unemployed for at least six months, we can help you identify and develop a pathway to achieve your education and employment goals.
When we first meet, we'll assess and identify your individual strengths, personal goals, interests, skills and experience, and the practical challenges you currently face. We'll then work with you to develop a personalised plan to suit your particular needs and circumstances.
