Parentline – turn to us

By: yourtown 15 May 2015 Parentline, Family & Community Services

Raising children is one of life’s most rewarding and enjoyable experiences but it can also be stressful, overwhelming and challenging.

COUNSELLING. EDUCATION. SUPPORT.

Talking things through with an experienced and trained person or just someone outside the circle of family and friends could make all the difference.

This is when parents and carers can turn to Parentline.

Parentline, is a confidential and anonymous phone and online counselling and support service, helping mums, dads and other carers cope with the many challenges they face as modern parents.

Families are the backbone of our community and everything we can do to support them will help strengthen our community and the future of young people. Wendy Protheroe, Parentline General Manager.

Parentline is also available to professionals working with children and families, who are seeking additional support. This could be a teacher trying to manage a challenging class situation or someone working at a domestic violence refuge, dealing with a child who has been abused.

Counsellors provide respectful, constructive and non-judgemental advice and support on any issue associated with parenting, children and families.

National Families Week begins today and we are asking for your help to let parents, carers, teachers and any one supporting children and families know about this important program. Please share this post with your networks.

Parentline’s telephone and email service operates between 8am-10pm, seven days a week. Web counselling is available from 11am-2pm, Tuesday and Thursday. For counselling support call Parentline on 1300 30 1300 or visit the website.

Parentline receives funding from the Queensland and Northern Territory Governments.
