A better, more supportive way to help long-term unemployed young people get and keep a job.
your job your way is a demonstration project with formal evaluation so that yourtown can prove how a more intensive and supportive approach to employment services can get better outcomes for young people, employers and community.
Research shows that the longer a young person is unemployed, the more likely they are to stay unemployed.
We want to help! your job your way is a unique approach to tackling long-term unemployment. We’ll connect with local employers to understand market needs and individual job requirements, so we can tailor training and support to suit.
Our demonstration projects will run for two years from July 2018 and are being evaluated in partnership with the Centre for Social Impact. Evidence from the evaluation will be used to advocate for positive change in employment services policy to support better outcomes for long-term unemployed young people.

“yourtown saw me as an individual, identified my strengths and talents, and gave me an opportunity to make a difference and be part of the community” Ethan – young person formerly long-term unemployed – now employed

- Interviewing a young job seeker
There might be other ways to contribute to this program too. Let us know your thoughts! Together, we can make a big difference.
