Community Work Skills Training

Traineeships provide skills and experience for future employment.

What is it?

An accredited program training young people in the skills they need for jobs in local industry.

Who is it for?

Young people aged 15-24 in Southeast Queensland.

Learn the Skills you need to Enter Today’s Job Market

Program participants are able to complete the Certificate III and are provided with ongoing case management and mentoring to help overcome barriers to engagement in learning and work.

Qualified trainers from employer preferred Registered Training Organisations are supported by a dedicated Program Coordinator. Note: Participants must be ineligible for Australian Government employment support, have significant barriers to learning or employment, or have been unemployed for more than six months.

Program participants are able to complete the Certificate III.

Participants benefit from:

  • Individual skills assessment and career advice
  • A personalised training and support plan
  • Referrals to specialists when necessary
  • Work preparation training tailored to skills in demand in local industry
  • Post placement support to ensure retention
  • Literacy/numeracy skills training and learning support
  • Personal development, life and employability skills training workshops
  • Job search skills training, including help with preparation of resumes and job applications, interview and presentation skills
  • Job placement assistance.

 

Note: Participants must be ineligible for Australian Government employment support, have significant barriers to learning or employment, or have been unemployed for more than six months.
